The Enhanced Analysis Option enables more comprehensive measurements to be made of real world signals and is available for PCSV6 users.

New features in the Enhanced Analysis Option include:

Noise

Now noise or interference can be measured on telephone lines even when they are being used for speech or data transmission. The quality of mission critical connections can be verified without taking them out of service.

Dual Activity

Dual activity is defined as the proportion of the measurement period when both signals are active. PCSV6 has provided a variable level doubletalk indication. Now a level independent measurement of activity can be made.

Variable Thresholds

For some applications it is desirable to modify the ITU Recommendation P.56 to provide for a narrower dynamic range.

The 15 existing 6dB thresholds can now be varied between 1 and 6dB.

Hangover Processing

The period allowed for the natural decay of a speech signal can now be varied, by the user, between 0 and 300 milliseconds to produce alternative measurements of activity and active level in different language structures.

Platform

The PCSV6 Enhanced software requires a faster platform for these advanced features - the minimum specification is now a 486 66MHz. The original program still functions on 386 25Mhz machines.
